Building “the Dream”
My husband and I are in the beginning process of buying a new home. While we found a neighborhood and a floorplan we both liked, we still have to figure out the details of the home (such as flooring, cabinetry, etc.) to get a better idea of how much the new home will cost us in the end. Tomorrow I get to go to the builder’s design center and pick out everything!
Obviously I’m excited to build a new home (we’ve been in our current home almost 10 years). But I’m even more excited about the new closet being about three times larger than my current one! I’m also in discussion with my husband about expanding the closet into an adjacent room which happens to be my office!! It will come down to cost if I’ll be able to do that, but I’ll still be happy with a separate (though smaller) closet and office. Since building an amazing closet is top of mind right now, I thought I’d dedicate today’s post to my dream closet with pics (I googled) for inspiration.
While I’m dreaming of gorgeous closet spaces, I’ll be cleaning out my current one and purging a ton of clothes. I’m HOPING it will happen. I tend to “hoard” my stuff, so saying goodbye to clothes is pretty hard to do. Yes – even if I haven’t seen it or worn it in years, sadly.
There I said it! My name is Rena. And I’m a hoarder.
The closets I chose to post here I think are more achievable than some other “dream closets” I’ve seen. I found my ultimate dream closet in a home in Texas. That closet is TWO stories and modeled after the flagship Chanel boutique in Paris! For more dream closet inspiration, visit/follow my “Dream Closet” Pinterest board!
