I wore the outfit featured in today’s post to a private function I attended last week. I wasn’t sure of the dress code, so I went with a basic look that was versatile enough for both business and cocktail. The weather was uncooperative as it had been raining pretty heavily all day. With all of that humidity, a low ponytail to the side was the only way I felt I could still look somewhat pulled together. (While some gals get frizzy hair from humidity, for me, it’s flat and lifeless hair. I’m still debating which is worse…)

Since this is the first posted photos of a couple items featured today, I just want to elaborate briefly. The black bracelet I’m wearing is the FitBit Flex. It’s basically a glorified pedometer like the Nike FuelBand or the Jawbone. I’ve owned a couple of FitBit clip-ons before but I would forget to take them off my clothes and they would end up in the wash. I found this bracelet version much more easy to keep track of. I also like how it has an alarm built in. Instead of a noisy alarm clock that might wake my husband, the vibration on my wrist from the FitBit Flex only wakes ME up. Which means I can hit snooze a couple of times without any of the guilt!

Also, for some of my friends that read this, yes, I know I previously snarked on the Rockstud heels! BUT, in my defense, after trying them on, I realized just how wrong I was. I like how they look on me and love how tall I feel in them!

Thanks for stopping by!

{POST UPDATED 6/18/2014} My FitBit Flex stopped syncing to my computer after only five months of use. Since I couldn’t retrieve the data it collected  (activity rate, amount of steps, etc.), it was rendered useless. I made several attempts to fix it, both on my own and through FitBit’s customer service (which is horrible by the way), but nothing worked. If the all of the parts work like they’re supposed to, the FitBit Flex is a wonderful device. However, with the $100 price tag, the short amount of time it was actually fully functional along with the poor customer service, I do not recommend purchasing the FitBit Flex.
